However, I strongly advise against that too. You can disable your antivirus and Windows security features and then it should run. They shouldn't be selling it since it's no longer safe and will not function on newer OS.Īs randym77 suggests, it's actually easy to bypass on Windows. I don't know where he bought Poser Debut, but I hope it wasn't here. Agree that Flash is not long for this world, but I also think many people will continue to use it, like people with older versions of Poser. I know all this, but it's easier to get around it in Windows (ill-advised as that may be). Or try to return Poser Debut (they shouldn't even be selling that anymore since it will not run on modern OS).

So, like I said, one option is to just use an old computer with an old OS that is not connected online, and use it for your old software that still uses flash. Adobe wanted people to uninstall it a couple years ago, and most AntiVirus software, including windows defender, will block it automatically. All software vendors have been moving away from it since 2017, and now in 2020 it's been phased out of Safari browser, and Chrome has it disabled by default. Like I said above, Flash is completely done.

There's a 21 day free trial period, and if you like it, you can get upgrade pricing, since you own older versions of Poser.Īlternately, you could try DAZ Studio, which is free, and has a reputation for being user friendly. You can try the newest version of Poser for free: Especially since you have a Mac, which isn't as open to tinkering. Buy the new version, not an obsolete version. I think buying Poser Debut was a mistake. The problem is Apple flat-out blocks Flash, at least the older versions that work with Poser.

Just keep that computer offline when you do, because Flash is a gateway for malware now.

The solution for you, if you really must use that old version of Poser might be to find an older computer to run it on, or install a dual boot that contains Windows 7 or earlier OS that will allow Flash apps to run. So as of 2020, Flash is a dead technology as far as most software developers are concerned. This wasn't just Windows computers, it was Windows, Linux, and any other platform using Adobe products.Įarlier this year, Apple said goodbye to Flash in their Safari browser too. Adobe has discontinued developing Adobe Flash products because of this, for example, and have urged users to disable it on their computers. Most software developers will not use Flash in their products now because of this fact.

Flash has been found to contain many, many security issues for Windows users over the years. If you're using Windows then it makes more sense.

But that seems to be the situation quite frankly.Īre you using Apple computer? If you are then its strange for sure. I hear what your are saying but it doesn´t make much sense that an application that is designed to be easy for newcomers isn´t better at getting new people to use it.Īpples products just to make a comparison was designed to be easy to use without the user having to become a computer a computer engineer to master the most simple tasks. is there a way to re-vailidate the certificate?Ĭhrope posted at 8:14PM Fri, 07 August 2020 - #4396285

I downloaded the Flash player 11 as someone told me to download an old version, but the problem persists even with this newly bought version of Poser Debut. I wonder if there is a way around the certificate or to make it valid again as that seems to be at play when it comes to the flash issue. The library window goes "Blocked plug in". I have tried to download an old Flash version but the problem persists. Then I installed it and found myself in the same situation as before where Poser 8 couldn´t utilize the library. When I tried to install it I was told by the system that the certificate for the installer was invalid I which acknowledged. I have previously posted another thread where I couldn´t use Poser 8 as it needed Flash for the library as I couldn´t solve it eventhough I tried to download old versions of Flash as people adviced me to and since Poser is a little too advanced for me, I read about Poser Debut, that it was a slimmed down version of Poser whcih as a little easier to get started with.
